Catfish Boat Tournament 2024 Benefit

The Boat Tournament promotes a spirit of friendly competition supporting the mission of Fin Addict Angler Foundation while those participating  enjoy the sport of fishing with family and friends creating special memories.

Tournament  Rules (Please read)...

Team Qualifications:

Open to the public. No age limit. Each team must have one person who is 18 years of age or older. There can be up to 3 people max per boat.  Sign-up your boat with a TEAM name. One person is needed to sign-up all team members (t-shirt size needed if signed up before Feb. 16th). Each team member will need to sign their signature on the day of the tournament. Signatures certifies the information to be true; photo/video release, and the release of all event contestants, host, tournament officials from all claims of injury or damage in connection with the tournament.

In the acceptance of change to the new normal of Safety First, social distancing is encouraged during our activities.

Registration:

Early registration is strongly encouraged.  Registration can be submitted online with payment. Or can sign-up at the office 3007 Rigsby Ave, Suite 1404 (call Oscar 210-643-3396 for appt.). Last chance-sign-up is on tournament morning. If your team registers in-person the day of the tournament, the entry fee must be paid in cash - no other payment methods will be accepted.

As a bonus, teams pre-registered by Feb. 16th will receive a limited edition tournament t-shirt for EVERY PRESENT REGISTERED participant (only while supplies last). Sizes Adult Small to 3XL.

Registration Fee:

The registration plus process fee is $125 per boat (up to 3 people max per boat). 

Pre-Fish Meeting:

Fin Addict Fishing Tournaments will host an informal Facebook Live Anglers meeting on Feb. 23th at 7:00 p.m. to go over the tournament rules and guidelines. 

Captain's Meeting

One person from each team must meet the morning of the tournament at 7:15am.

MANDATORY BOAT Inspection & PARTICIPANT Check-in:

6:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.  Please check-in prior to fishing. Each angler fishing in the event must check-in at the tournament table to confirm your team's registration before you begin fishing regardless of your arrival time.

Tournament Times:

Teams can begin fishing at 7:30 a.m. and will submit their fish no later than 3:00 p.m. Fish caught before 7:30 a.m. or submitted after 3:00 p.m. will not be eligible for judging. In order for a fish to be eligible for judging, it must be submitted by the deadline.

Tackle & Fishing Equipment:

Live, dead and artificial bait will be permitted. Six (6) fishing rods may be used at the same time per boat. Please use fishing rods and reel only - no nets or traps or any other method may be used in this tournament.  No down rigging! No jug line! You must bring your own fishing gear, bait etc.

Fishing Location:

For this tournament teams will be allowed to fish by personal watercraft in the water of Calaveras Lake. For park fees and park rules check www.cpsenergy.com or call (210)635-8359.

Fishing Laws:

This tournament will adhere to all State [TPWD/Park]  fishing rules. For TPWD rules, visit the TPWD website. Fish size must be legal in order to be eligible for judging. Children should wear a life jacket while in the boat.

Judging:

6 catfish heaviest stringer per boat. All legal fish must be brought to the judge's table. You must be in line by 3:00 p.m. with your fish to be eligible for tournament judging. All judges' decisions are final.

Heaviest Catfish Stringer Awards:

1st place- $700  + Prizes

2nd place- $400  + Prizes

3rd place- Fin Addict Prize 

Winners will be announced at the event and on the Fin Addict Angler Website the week following the tournament.

Saturday, February 24th

• 6:30 a.m. - check-in begins
• 8:00 a.m. - check-in ends
• 7:15 a.m. - captains meeting
• 7:30 a.m. - tournament begins
• 3:00 p.m. - tournament ends (fish must be submitted for judging by 3:00 p.m)
• TBD p.m. - tournament winners announced

Date may be subject to change due to any unfavorable conditions prohibiting fishing activities . All entry fees will roll over to the new date. No refunds. All funds to benefit the Fin Addict Angler Foundation in its mission to provide angler education through creative fishing clinics and programs.
