Fin Addict Military Vets on the Water 2023

For those not familiar with the event, it happens at Calaveras Lake. Boat owners volunteer their boat and take the registered veterans and their guests for a morning of fishing and fun. After all that fun, our veterans and their guest will have lunch provided by the Lone Star Grillers. Veterans are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing appropriate to weather conditions. May bring personal fishing gear but is not necessary, boat captains will have loaners. Veterans do not need to know how to fish. First timers are definitely welcomed. Fishing is for everyone! Fin Addict Angler Foundation promotes angler education, fostering the knowledge and skills of fishing while reinforcing the importance of stewardship and outdoor ethics.

Fishing is a huge outlet to escape reality for a bit and to de-stress from stressful returns that many veterans experience in their transition to civilian life. Focusing and finding the rhythm of fishing helps to bring peace of mind to many who are struggling with their life in the present.

Veterans registered by November 3rd receive a memorable t-shirt. Guest limit to 1, may be or not a veteran. Please indicate if the guest is a veteran.

Calavera’s Park opens at 6am and check-in is from 7am to 8am. Boats depart at 8am and fish till 12 noon. Lunch will be provided from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
